Bangladesh reach SAAF U-19 Women's Championship final, demolish Sri Lanka by 12-0

Bangladesh bulldozed their way into the final of SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship 2021 thrashing Sri Lanka by 12-0 on Sunday.

The girls of red and green will face India at the all-important final on Wednesday.

Bangladesh scored four goals in the first half of the match and scored eight more in the second to complete the dozen.

Afida Khondoker Pranti and Shaheda Akter Ripa both scored hattricks. 

Rituporna Chakma and Anuching Mogini scored two each and the rest of the goals came from the boots of Aankhi Khatun and Unnati Khatun.

Earlier on Sunday, India defeated Nepal by 1-0 in their final SAFF U-19 Women's Championship group match.

Priyanka Devi scored the only goal in the 67th minute for India. The win secured India's place in the final.
