Bangladesh-origin footballer Zidan Miah signs for La Liga club

Zidan Miah has become the first Bangladesh-origin British footballer to sign for a Spanish La Liga club, Rayo Vallecano.

London- born 21-year-old Zidan Miah from a native of Moulvibazar district, had to go through a two-month-long trial process initially to get selected for the newly promoted La Liga team, Rayo Vallecano, reports UNB.

Zidan started his footballing journey in the David Beckham Academy and also played for English Club Bromley FC U-23 team.

His brilliant performances enabled him to get a scholarship in Michael Johnson's Performance Centre and he subsequently moved to the US where he played for Columbus Crew U-14 and FC Dallas.

Zidan, however, will not play in the most prestigious La Liga right now for his new club. He will initially play in the B team of Rayo.

Earlier in several interviews in Bangladesh media, Zidan Miah expressed his desire to play for the Bangladesh team.

Bangladesh football Federation (BFF) freshly included two Bangladesh-origin booters-Rahbar Wahed Khan (Canada) and Nayb Md Tahmid Islam(France) for the Tri-nation Cup Football in Krygyzstan apart from national captain Jamal Bhuiyan (Denmark) and defender Tariq Raihan Kazi (Finland).
