Bangladesh opt to bowl first against India

Bangladesh have won the toss against India and decided to bowl first in their final warm-up game before the World Cup.

As it is a warm-up game, both teams can play 11-14 members in this match, reports UNB.

About his decision to bowl first, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza told the broadcaster that the wicket was under the cover for the last few days.

“Mostly everyone is playing today. Our last match was washed out. They (India) are one of the biggest sides in the tournament, so it’s going to be tough. But let's see,” he said.

Indian captain Virat Kohli said they would have bowled first had they won the toss.

“We got a hang of what we needed to do well in the last game. We played a practice game two days after arriving in England. We’ve played a lot of cricket compared to other teams. Kedar (Yadav) still won't be able to compete. Vijay Shankar is fine. We’re playing 14 today, instead of 13,” he said.

This match came as the last chance for both of Bangladesh and India to sort out the team combination before the tournament. While India still have an issue with their number four place, Bangladesh are yet to finalise their number seven.

Bangladesh’s first warm-game against Pakistan was washed out. However, the Tigers are upbeat to exploit the final warm-up game against India.

After this match, Tigers will set their camp in London where they will play first two of their World Cup games against South Africa and New Zealand respectively on June 2 and 5.
