Tigers have won the first one-day international (ODI) series against Proteas for the first time on South African soil.

Bangladesh defeated South Africa by nine wickets in their series-deciding third ODI in front of a predominantly Bangladesh crowd at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Wednesday, according to espncricinfo.com.

Bangladesh chased the 155-run target in 26.3 overs losing one wicket.

In South Africa’s innings, Bangladesh wrapped up Proteas for 154 in 37 overs, riding on the brilliant pace-bowling display by Taskin Ahmed.

Taskin ended up taking five wickets for 35 runs in nine overs.

Bangladesh won the first game of the series by 38 runs, which was their first victory on South African soil before the hosts hit back to a winning way with a seven-wicket victory in the second game.
