North South University Human Resources Club arranged the third instalment of its signature event, HR Calibration 3.0-- a nation-wide business competition for the students of the undergraduate level, based on the current trends and practices of human resource management (HRM). With the spontaneous participation of 386 teams from 32 different universities nationwide, the competition has again made itself  the biggest national competition on strategic HR model building for the third time.

The competition consisted of three distinct phases. The first phase was an online case solving round. The participants had to give a feasible solution to a case that was based on the current trends and practices of Human Resource Management with a time limit of 24 hours.

The second phase consisted of 35 teams that qualified from the first phase. The chosen teams were required to come to NSU premises and were again given a case, only this time, it had to be solved, on-spot within one hour and then presented in front of the judges. Before getting the case, an interactive workshop was held, which was conducted by Sayeed Nasir, general manager for Talent Acquisition and Organisational Development, Human Resources Division, of bKash Limited, to help participants brush up their knowledge and insights about HRM.

After overcoming the impediments of both the phases, only nine teams made it to the final round, where they were asked to build a strategic HR Model for Banglalink. The teams were given full access to the company by Banglalink for this purpose. Then, they had to present their solutions to the judges in the grand finale held on December 21, 2019 at North South University campus.

The judges of the final round of this event were: Ayesha Saeed, head of talent management, Human Resources and Administration, Banglalink, Mohammad Mamun Chowdhury, head of supply chain, Rahimafrooz Storage Power Business (RSPB), and Kaiser Chowdhury, senior vice president, Human Resources, BRAC Bank Ltd.
