An Award Centre Sub-Licence signing ceremony took place between The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh and St. Joseph International School on the school premises in Dhaka recently, according to a press release.
Br. Chandon Benedict Gomes CSC, Principal of St. Joseph International School; and Mr. Rizwan Bin Farouq, Member, Board of Trustees of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh; signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
As per the agreement, St. Joseph International School agrees to offer The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme for its students from now on.
Mr. Shariful Anwar, Director of Academic, 15 distinguished faculty members and around 70 students of St. Joseph International School along with the officials of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh joined the signing ceremony on last February 2.
The press release says The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global non-formal education framework that encourages young people aged 14 - 24 to discover their potential and find their purpose, passion and place in the world.
It is a compact self-development programme equipping young people with holistic knowledge uptake to make and lead a better world through facilitating versatile flavours of experiential learning.
Since 1956, millions of young people have taken part in the award in more than 130 countries and territories worldwide.
