Teachers, students and employees of Islamic University (IU) formed a human chain on Sunday in protest of the attack on the vice-chancellor of the university.
The protestors under the banner of Islamic University Teachers Association (IUTA) held the human chain on the premises of Faculty building around 11am.
BSS says speakers at the human chain demanded exemplary punishment of the perpetrators involved in the attack as soon as possible.
IU Pro-VC Professor Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Professor Dr MSelim Toha, Former President of IUTA Professor Dr M Mahbubur Rahman, Professor Dr M Tozammel Hossain, University Proctor Professor Dr M Mahbubar Rahman, among others, took part in the event.
IUTA President Professor Dr M Mizanur Rahman presided over the event while its secretary Professor Dr M Waliullah conducted the chain.
