Southeast University (SEU) has organised the “Literature Award Giving Ceremony 2017” on Sunday at its Tejgaon campus.
Asaduzzaman Noor, Minister of Cultural Affairs, was the chief guest at the ceremony - which was presided over by Prof Dr ANM Meshquat Uddin, Vice Chancellor of SEU, says a press release.
Md Rezaul Karim, Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of SEU joined the programme as guest of honour.
Emeritus Prof Serajul Islam Choudhury and Fiction Writer Badrun Nahar received the Southeast University Literature Award 2017.
Emeritus Professor Dr Anisuzzaman, and Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan, Director General of Bangla Academy, who attended the event as special guests, were awarded lifetime achievement gold medal.
Later, a cultural programme was organised where artists of the Southeast University Cultural Club performed.
Members of BoT of SEU, Registrar, Deans, Chairman, and Directors of different departments of the university were present at the ceremony.
