RMU institutions enter digital era

All medical institutions, including both public and private medical colleges, nursing colleges and institutions and health institutions, under the jurisdiction of Rajshahi Medical University (RMU) have entered the digital era.

From now on, all activities including data entry, students’ registration and form fill-up for examination will be executed digitally through browsing website:rmu.edu.bd website from anywhere and anytime.

The venture will supplement the government’s efforts to build Digital Bangladesh by 2021.

RMU Vice-chancellor Prof Masum Habib revealed this while inaugurating a daylong training workshop titled “Students Online Registration in Public and Private Nursing College and Health Institutions” at RMU’s temporary office in Rajshahi city on Sunday.

Chaired by controller of Examinations Dr Anwar Hossain, the session was addressed, among others, by Section Officers Rashedul Islam and Jamal Uddin, managing director of Raj IT Solutions Limited Akhteruzzaman Masud and Chief Commercial Officer Maruf Ahmed.

Prof Masum Habib told the meeting that all the existing public and private medical colleges, dental colleges and nursing colleges and institutes in Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions were brought under the jurisdiction of RMU.

The university will conduct 85 post-graduate courses under nine faculties.

Appointment was given to some of the major posts including registrar and controller of examinations aims at bringing dynamism into its activities.

Besides, there will be a 1,000-bed modern hospital attached to the university. A nursing institute will also be established for creating skilled nurses, reports BSS.

Acquisition process of 86 acres of land for establishing the permanent campus in Borobangram area in the city is progressing fast. Simultaneously, the process of building the permanent campus is progressing.
