North South University (NSU) celebrates silver jubilee of its Career and Placement Center

North South University (NSU) on Tuesday organised a virtual programme to celebrate the silver jubilee of its Career and Placement Center (CPC).

The programme took place at the syndicate hall of the university. It was organised following a hybrid system considering the COVID-19 outbreak and health risks, according to a press release.

Planning Minister Muhammad Abdul Mannan graced the programme as the chief guest.

ITO Naoki, Ambassador, Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh; Yuho Hayakawa, Chief Representative, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Bangladesh; Syed Ershad Ahmed, President, American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham); Azim Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT); Benajir Ahmed and M A Kashem, Members of Board of Trustees, North South University; Dr ABM Rashedul Hassan, Treasurer, NSU; Anis Ahmed, Founder & Group CEO, MGH Group; Tarik Babu, President, NRB Global, USA; Prof Masud A Khan, Founder of Better Bangladesh Foundation; and Syed Nasir Ershad, Economic Minister, Embassy of Bangladesh Tokyo, Japan, attended the programme as special guests.

The chief guest and all special guests spoke at the programme, with the Vice-Chancellor of NSU, Professor Atiqul Islam, in the chair.

Congratulating the director of CPC for achieving such a milestone, Planning Minister Mr Mannan said, “North South University is respected for its quality education not just in the sector of academia but outside as well.”

He praised the NSU and its CPC for their commendable contribution in the professional lives of their students and alumni.

During the programme marking the silver jubilee, the CPC also published its first-ever newsletter.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor of NSU, Prof Dr M Ismail Hossain, delivered the welcome speech.
