Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) warmly welcomed the newly enrolled undergraduate students of Summer 2019 Semester through an orientation ceremony on Saturday at IUB campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka.
The students got enrolled in five different Schools of the university that are, School of Business; School of Engineering & Computer Science; School of Environmental Science & Management; School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences and; School of Life Sciences.
Prof. M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB; Prof. Milan Pagon, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Md. Anwarul Islam, Registrar; Dr. Mohd. Aminul Karim, Dean, School of Business; Dr. Mohammed Anwer, Dean, School of Engineering and Computer Science; Dr. Abdul Khaleque, Dean, School of Environmental Science and Management; Dr. Zakir Hossain Razu, Head, Department of Media and Communication, on behalf of the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences addressed the audience in the orientation program.
The speakers advised all students to work hard, possess ``never give up attitude’’, be passionate on what they want to pursue and be employable instead of looking for typical jobs.However, these are only possible through acquiring required knowledge, chasing your dreams and sharing thoughts with faculties and mates. In this regard, IUB is always there to mentor, provide meticulous support and create opportunities to succeed – all the speakers emphasized.
Later, the newly enrolled students were oriented by the Registrar, different Schools, Departments, Laboratories, Library and other Divisions of IUB. Subsequently, they visited all Schools and Departments so as to acquiring basic information about the university and its teaching methodologies. Apart from the students, parents, guardians, members of the faculty and management of IUB were present in the orientation program.
The event was conducted by Lima Choudhury, Deputy Director, Admissions and Financial Aid Office of IUB.
