Intra-legal contest held at NSU

North South University Law and Mooting Society (NSULMS), a renowned legal co-curricular club of North South University, has organised an intra-legal contest titled ‘Legal Eagle 1.0’ presented by YOYOSO.

The event culminated with the pressing need for incentives to make students more knowledgeable about the country’s legal system and practice the law of Bangladesh by being “better future court dominators”.

This event consisted of an Inauguration ceremony and a flash mob. Additionally, the second day had some segments - Segment one: a Legal Debate named “War of Words”, Segment two: Op-ed submission and presentation named “Battle of Thoughts” and finally, prize giving and closing ceremony, according to a statement.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by chief guest Prof Dr Md Rizwanul Islam, Chair, Department of Law, North South University.

In presence of the faculty advisor of NSULMS, Ms Nasmin Jabin Noor, Qumrul Hasan Himel, the president of NSULMS, delivered the vote of thanks.

Later in the day, in light of Legal Eagle 1.0, NSULMS members performed an eye-catching flash mob with hundreds of spectators at North South University Plaza Area.

The second day commenced with debating participated by Sarmin Akther, senior associate, Bangladesh Law Partners, BDLP; Md Asif Mahbub Tanvir, fellow, Teach for Bangladesh; Sabiha Mehzabin Oishee, lecturer, Department of Law, Canadian University of Bangladesh, and Sajid Hossain, masters candidate, University of Cambridge,

Md Abdullah and Mehreen Chowdhury Shreya were declared winners whilst Fozia Afrin Lizna and Kayeef Bin Shahnowaz were the runners up.
