Idea pitching competition held by Dhaka University Entrepreneurship Development Club

After a month of intensive training programs, Bootcamp sessions, and multiple idea-pitching segments, Dhaka University Entrepreneurship Development Club (DUEDC) has organised the Grand Finale of 'FSIBL Presents Creaventure: National Idea Pitching Competition 2022' on 14th December 2022 at Six Seasons Hotel, Gulshan which First Security Islami Bank Ltd supported.

The Grand Finale started with a game-based team-building session for the finalists, conducted by mekATeam. Later, the top 8 finalist teams attended the final round of pitching, followed by a question-answer segment. 

Each team shared the idea of their innovative ventures, and the honourable judges assessed their feasibility and gave them marks. 

Md. Abdul Quayyum, Head of Communications, UNDP Bangladesh, Dr Rafiuddin Ahmed, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing, University of Dhaka, Founder of Innokids, Siddhartho Goshwami, Senior Consultant, Head of Operations, Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) and Asif Uddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor and Director of MBA Program of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) were the invited honourable judges of the grand finale.

At the closing ceremony, the President of DUEDC, Zawad Alam, shared the journey of DUEDC and revealed how this event encouraged students to come up with diverse ideas fulfilling the goal of this organisation which made the event successful. 

He also added that DUEDC, an organised entrepreneurship club run by the students of the University of Dhaka, is working relentlessly to develop the entrepreneurial mindset of young people, particularly college and university students. Creaventure, an event presented by the First Security Islami Bank Ltd., is an effort to realise the cause.  

DUEDC's Chief Patron and Moderator, Dr Rafiuddin Ahmed, urged the students to let go of their job-seeking tendency and focus on creating jobs for thousands to overcome the unemployment problem. 

Professor Dr Muhammad Abdul Moyeen, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka, was the Chief Guest of the grand event. He thanked the organisers for arranging a program that encourages young minds to generate ideas, bring change to society, and make their lives meaningful. 

Towards the end, the winners of the event were announced. Team Shiree was crowned as the Champion, and Team BeWell and Team Wastech were recognised as the 1st and 2nd runners-up. The winners received Tk 25,000, 15,000, and 10,000, respectively.

The General Secretary of DUEDC, Afsara Tasnim, concluded the event by congratulating all the winners, thanking the guests and judges, and expressing gratitude towards First Security Islami Bank Ltd. for their immense support in the whole journey of the event.
