A two-day long international conference on “Innovation in Engineering and Technology (ICIET)” has begun at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU) from Thursday.
Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the conference as the chief guest.
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the DU has organised the conference with a theme of “Science, Engineering and Technologies for Next Generation”.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the DU Prof Dr Md Hasanuzzaman presided over the inaugural function while Pro-Vice Chancellor of the DU Prof Dr Muhammad Samad, and Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section Prof Dr Celia Shahnaz addressed the function as special guests, says a media release.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman urged the professionals, academicians and researchers to conduct advanced level research on engineering and technology to achieve sustainable development goals.
He stressed the need for promoting collaborative research among the researchers around the world for facing various global challenges.
He hoped that the conference would strengthen relationship among the researchers and create common platform for academicians and industrialists in this regard.
