Debate and Public Speaking Workshop 2022 kicks off

Chittagong University Debating Society (CUDS) has been working to spread the debate culture among the students of Chittagong University since 1996. As part of its motive, CUDS every year organises many mega-events. Debate and Public Speaking Workshop is the most significant one of them.
The much-awaited 17th CUDS Debate and Public Speaking Workshop 2022, sponsored by MARKS, began on May 27. Like every year the central debating organisation of Chittagong University, Chittagong University Debating Society-CUDS, is organising a three-month-long workshop to rationalise the minds of thousands of students of Chittagong University. The first part of the workshop will be a month-long training workshop conducted by eminent academics and renowned mentors like Dr Sukanta Bhattacharya, professor, Department of English, University of Chittagong, ABM Abu Noman, professor, Department of Law, University of Chittagong, Masum Ahmed, associate professor, Department of Philosophy, University of Chittagong, Mahfuza Akhtar, general manager, BTV, Chattogram Centre, and others.
In addition to them, renowned and skilled debaters from both the Bangla and English debate arenas will be conducting further training sessions.
The second part of the workshop 'Marks 17th CUDS Novice Debate Competition 2022' and 'Marks 17th CUDS Public Speaking Competition 2022' will be organised with the participation of new students wheretrainee debaters will practice arguments from their trained experience.
Vice-chancellor of Chittagong University Dr Shirin Akhter will be attending the closing ceremony of the event as the chief guest. Professor Dr Benu Kumar Dey, Register Professor SM Manirul Islam Bhuiyan, Proctor Professor Rabiul Hasan, and General Manager Of BTV Chattogram Mahfuza Akhtar will be present as special guests. Participants will be awarded certificates and prizes.
CUDS believes that this will be one of the largest debates and public speaking workshops in Bangladesh. Over the years, CUDS has been keen on making students interested in logical discourse and engaging in debates, not just in Chattogram, but in the entire country. With this milestone event kicking off, CUDS hopes to inspire thousands of youths in debate and logic for the foreseeable future.
