Curtain falls on Escalate 2022

Founded under the School of Business and Economics of North South University 27 years ago, North South Young Entrepreneurs Society (NSU YES!), rose to the top with its valiant efforts and ideas. This student-run organisation has devoted itself to spreading its platform for ambitious undergraduate students to forge moral leadership and entrepreneurial perspective.
On June 07 and 08, NSU YES proudly launched the second iteration of ‘Escalate 2022: A Development Summit’, which brought forth esteemed professionals of renowned corporate organisations and startups in the territory of Bangladesh and enthusiastic students together in an enlightening congregation. With two seminar sessions each day, NSU YES planned to empower entrepreneurship and scalability from the authentic tales of success in the four engaging sessions.
The first session of "Fundamentals of Beginning a Successful Career Path" featured the co-founder and COO of Shikho, one of the leading ed-tech platforms with a mission to revolutionise the way Bangladesh learns today, Zeeshan Zakaria. He remains a leader in his own right and continues to tackle the biggest obstacles with finesse. From making the session highly interactive with corporate exercises to taking interviews from the audience, Mr Zakaria earned raves among the students. The journey of his diverse life gave a glimpse at the grit required behind the success of a startup. Moreover, Mr Piyash, his associate, took the stage to impart some of his wisdom regarding the growing platform of Shikho.
In the second session, Ms Sadia Haque, the founder and CEO of Sharetrip, took to the stage to charm the audience with ‘Networking and Beyond’. Her genuine personality and encouraging persona created the base success of Sharetrip. With wit and grace, she recalled her life back at the North South University, making the journey relatable to the students. Answering abundant questions about career, workplace ethics, and, creating and maintaining networking, she made the session thoroughly comprehensive and enjoyable.
The speaker of the third session was the Marketing Director of Marico Bangladesh Limited, Allen Ebenezer Eric. Through his corporate voyage and calibrated ability to beguile an entire audience, he accentuated ‘The Art of Storytelling’. He stated how a good conscience in storytelling could turn a company into a renowned brand. He shared his unblemished experience with the future young entrepreneurial mindsets, sharing tips on the continuing legacy of creative ads and dynamic approaches that hooked audiences' attention.
For the fourth session, Syed Iftekhar Towheed, senior marketing manager of Foodpanda, visited to give an insightful speech on the ‘Game of Brands’. Mr Towheed emphasised consistency, consumer inertia, and word of mouth. Consistency is critical if one perceives it to be exceptional and pre-eminent in marketing their product. He stated, "80 per cent of consumers look at online reviews before making major purchases." His splendid down-to-earth nature and pleasant personality diversified fields throughout his journey.
With all of the four speakers' perspicacious speeches and valuable insights, along with their positive encouragement, students of North South University thoroughly gloried in and embraced the interactive sessions and ended up experiencing an NSU YES corporate event of a lifetime.
