The rapid evolution of technology is posing a big challenge to the academic institutions to pace up with the need of ever changing market need. VLSI is one such domain of knowledge and skill. Continuous dialogue and concerted initiative within industry and academia can only improve the situation. Besides, every country and its culture has some unique issues that need to be addressed and customised to create a vibrant semiconductor industry. Industry and academia's joint effort is very crucial to achieve this, says a press release.

Ulkasemi Private Limited  is continuously in conversation with academia for the growth and development of the VLSI skilled resources in Bangladesh.

The company with its head office in Silicon Valley has its presence in the global semiconductor market catering to the top leading semiconductor companies of the world for more than 13 years. It hones more than 120 skilled resources and experts in its different offices in US, Bangladesh, India and South Asia.

Recently, Ulkasemi conducted a 32-hour workshop on integrated circuit (IC) design in collaboration with East West University (EWU). 25 undergrad students of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) participated in the programme. Eight industry resource persons from Ulkasemi conducted the training.

On November 03 at the certificate giving ceremony, the EWU's Dr Khalid Saad, chairperson of EEE, appreciated such initiative and hoped that more of such exchange sessions would be crucial in building up awareness and knowledge on the semiconductor industry.
