16th edition of 'battle of minds' held

The most awaited result of the 16th edition of ‘Battle of Minds-19', a skill development based recruitment platform for young people has been announced. After passing several stages of competition ‘The Beetles’ a team of students from Dhaka University's Institute of Business Administration (IBA), became the champions this year. 'Now You See Us' the team from Bangladesh University of Professional's and Three Horsemen another team from IBA were named the First and the second runners-up respectively.

The grand finale of the championship was held on Wednesday evening at a hotel in the capital.

Md. Sohrab Hossain, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Education graced the event as chief guest. In his speech he said, “The government is working relentlessly to develop skilled workforce in the country. Through this kind of competitions the potentials of our young students can be assessed properly which I believe will help to new possibilities and opportunities for our youngsters as well as the overall development of the country. Organizations like BAT Bangladesh and others need to come forward with such good initiatives for sustainable development of the country, He added.

The Battle of Minds, a skill development platform which create bridges between education institutional and experienced in the corporate world in order to help the talented youngsters to pursue their dreams. The 'Battle of Minds' is committed to the development of skilled workforce development of the youth of Bangladesh.

British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BAT Bangladesh) has been organizing this competition since 2004.  There was a spontaneous participation of students in this 16th season. Around 4,000 students from different universities across the country participated this year. The participants brought their problem solving ideas and plans on various segments such as   Agriculture, Soil Science, Engineering and Business. In different steps pave the way for solving problems and contributing to social structures, both online and offline. During the grand finale, participants presented the final plan. Throughout the four stages of competition, the top 15 students got the chance to participate in the finale.

Commenting on the event, Managing Director of BAT Bangladesh Shehzad Munim said, “Battle of Minds creates an opportunity for students to unbox their talents and ideas. As a result, students benefit themselves and these talents play a vital role for the development of the country”.
