15 DU students face expulsion for adopting unfair means

Dhaka University (DU) authorities are set to expel 15 students on charge of getting admitted to the university through fraudulence in 2016.

The decision, according to UNB, was taken on Thursday at the university disciplinary committee's meeting, said Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Akhtaruzzaman.

"Primarily the disciplinary committee suggested expelling 15 students for adopting unfair means in the admission test. But the decision will be finalised at the syndicate meeting," he said.

The students are: Navid Anjum Tonoy of Geography & Environment Department, Md Mohiuddin Rana of Physics, Abdullah Al Mamun of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Nahid Iftekhar, Md. Rifat Hossain of Political Science, Md. Biazid of Psychology, Md. Azizul Hakim of World Religion & Culture, Prosenjit Das of Sanskrit, Fardin Ahmed Sabbir of Health Economics, Md. Tanvir Ahmed Mallik of Economics, Rafsan Karim of Islamic Studies, Anisur Rahman Anik of Bengali, T M Tanvir Hasnien of History, Munshi Md. Sujaur Rahman of Education & Research and Nazmul Hasan Nayem of Pali & Buddhist Study department.
