Deep-fried foods are good in taste but not so good for health. But, most people, aware of the fact, consume these harmful foods regularly.
It may be difficult for them to prioritise health before taste and cravings. But is it possible to make deep-fried foods like French fries or potato wedges with less oil?
If the answer is yes, then it’s good news, since one can continue having tasty foods without causing problems for the health.
French Fry
Ingredients:
- 2 large potatoes
- Salt
- Chilli Flex or Black pepper
- Olive Oil
Recipe:
Step 1: Give the potatoes a French fry cut, wash them in cold water and drain.
Step 2: Put the potatoes in a bowl. Toss a few times with a few pinches of salt.
Step 3: Brush the oven tray with a little oil and set the potatoes on the tray keeping a little space among each other.
Step 4: Bake them at 120° Celsius for 10 minutes.
Step 5: Take the potatoes out, dress nicely with a little oil and chilli flex or black pepper and bake again for 15 minutes at the same temperature.
Step 6: Take out the fries and place them in the serving dish. Serve with your favourite dip.
Potato Wedges
Ingredients:
- 2 large potatoes
- Salt
- Italian seasoning
- Egg
- Paprika
- Bread crumbs
- Olive oil
Recipe:
Step 1: Cut the potatoes into wedges shape, wash and drain.
Step 2: Put the potatoes in a bowl. Toss a few times with a few pinches of salt, 1 teaspoon Paprika, Italian seasoning and a little oil.
Step 3: Brush the oven tray (must be non-stick for the egg wash step) with a little oil and set the potatoes on the tray keeping a little space among each other.
Step 4: Bake them at 150° Celsius for 15 minutes.
Step 5: Take the potatoes out. Beat the egg in a bowl with a pinch of salt and paprika. Dip the potatoes in it and dip them in bread crumbs for a perfect coating.
Step 6: Place them again in the tray and bake for 10 minutes at the same temperature.
Step 7: Take out the wedges and place them in the serving dish. Serve with your favourite dip.
