The cover of poet Parvez Babul’s book ‘Tumi Chhara Shunno Ami’ was unveiled on Wednesday. Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu, MP, unveiled the book at a function at National Museum in the city, marking the UNESCO-declared World Poetry Day.
A literary organisation KOBITANGON and World Poetry Centre-Bangladesh organised the event. Poet Sarder Azad presided over the programme. A good number of poets from Bangladesh and India were present and recited their poems, according to a statement.
Citing Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, English poets Coleridge and Wordsworth and Greek philosopher Plato, the said any combination of sweet sounding words made poetry.
He also termed the month of March a ‘turning point’ in the history of the nation.
