The government has withdrawn two officials of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Gazipur as part of measures to investigate recent deaths of deaths of 11 zebras at the park.
The environment ministry gave the information in a statement on Monday.
Meanwhile, the authorities have also started a process to withdraw the project director of the park.
“The decision was taken for an impartial investigation to reveal the real cause of death of the zebras at Safari Park,” it added.
“As part of the process, the officer-in-charge of the safari park Tabibur Rahman and Dr Hatem Sajjad Md Zulkarnain has been withdrawn and attached to the Forest Department in Dhaka.”
