Tanzina Afroz and Christina Miti Rozario have won the first prize in two categories of National Japanese Speech Contest held at the Japanese Embassy in the city on Saturday.
Tanzina Afroz for her speech "A Memorable Japanese Word", in the advanced category, won the first prize while Christina Miti Rozario delivered a speech on "The Prince on a Black Horse" and was awarded the first prize in the beginners category.
The 14th National Japanese Speech Contest was organised by the Japanese Universities Alumni Association in Bangladesh (JUAAB), the Japan Foundation and the Embassy of Japan.
Itochu Corporation, Marubeni Corporation, Kaicom Solutions Japan, Mitsubishi Corporation, Nagasaki Restaurant, Nippon Koei Co. Limited, Saito Nenshi Bangladesh Limited, YKK Bangladesh Pte Limited and the Japan Commerce & Industry Association in Dhaka were the sponsors of this year's contest.
