Train accidents kill three in Dhaka

Three people were killed in separate train incidents in Mohakhali, Kamlapur and Kuril Biswaroad areas in Dhaka on Thursday and Friday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Dhaka, and Mohammad Yasin Faruk said one of the deceased was identified as Md Farid Mia, 41.  The identities of two others are yet to be known, reports BSS.

He said an unidentified man, 44, wearing a full pant, was killed as a Dhaka-bound passengers' train form Sylhet rammed into him at Mohakhali rail-crossing around 2 pm on Friday.

Another accident took place at Kamlapur Rail Station where an unidentified youth, 25, was knocked down by a moving train killing on the spot at about 11 am, the OC added.

Meanwhile, Farid Mia, who received serious injuries on Thursday afternoon at Kuril Biswaroad, succumbed to his injuries at Kurmitola General Hospital last night.

Three separate unnatural death (UD) cases were filed with the police.
