Three MPs to face ACC’s investigation over illegal wealth

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to launch investigation against three members of the parliament over allegation of acquiring illegal wealth. 

The three are Awami League MP Mizanur Rahman and former BNP MPs Ruhul Kuddus Dulu and Asadul Habib Dulu, ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB on Thursday. 

He said that Khulna-2 constituency MP andAwami League leader Mizanur Rahmanmisused his power in Khulna City Corporation and other government offices in his constituency to secure work orders in the name of his family members. 

"He finished those works in low slandered to embezzle the money. His illegal earning of around TK 1.0 billion was used in drug trade," ACC's public relations officer said. 

He added that BNP's former lawmaker Ruhul Kuddus Dulu earned Tk 5.0 billion from different government projects of Natore during the tenure of the BNP government. 

"Another former MP of the BNP, Asadul Habib Dulu, acquired huge money illegally during the tenure of the BNP government, from Lalmonirhat and Rangpur region by providing tender works to traders of his choice," he also added.
