President Md Abdul Hamid has called on the country's well-off families to support flood victims.
“Floods have marooned a lot of people, who are not being able to celebrate the Eid," he said in his address to a gathering of diplomats, politicians, bureaucrats and eminent citizens who converged at Bangabhaban on Saturday.
The president met people from all walks of life there on the occasion of Holy Eid-ul-Azha and greeted them.
"We need to work in the spirit of sacrificing all the evil within for peace and prosperity," said Hamid.
The key message of every religion is humanity, he said. "The Eid-ul-Azha is all about making the sacrifice for the betterment of mankind,” he added. – agencies
