A colourful rally was brought out on Friday at Manik Mia Avenue ahead of the National Jute Day on March 6.

The government is observing the day in a bid to encourage people to use more jute and jute products.

Textile and Jute Minister M Imazuddin Pramanik led the rally while State Minister for Textile and Jute Mirza Azam was also present.

Pramanik urged all to contribute from their respective position in making the use of jute and jute products more popular in home and abroad.

"We are working relentlessly to revive the past glory of the golden fibre, the pride of Bangladesh," he said.

After the rally, the ongoing jute road show that was started on Thursday across the country left Dhaka for Jamalpur district.

The road show was adorned with colourful banners, festoons and decorated vehicles with different features and benefits of using jute and jute products.
