At least seven people, including a school teacher, were killed in separate road accidents in Chattogram and Sylhet districts on Friday, reports UNB.
In Chattogram, three people were killed in a head-on collision between two buses in Sahgodi Nimtoli area of Patiya Upazila at 11:00 am.
The deceased were identified as Hridoy Ranjan Das, 70, a teacher of Chiringa area of Cox’s Bazar, his wife Basanti Das, 55, and their son-in-law, Shibakar Das, 40.
Hridoy and Basanti died on the spot and Shibhakar sustained severe injuries.
Locals rushed him to Chattogram Medical Collage Hospital (CMCH) where the duty doctors declared him dead.
In another road crash, two people—Kiron Bala Das, 60, and Lutfur Rahman, 30, died when a bus hit a road-side tree after its driver lost control over the steering on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway at Shuklal Hat in Barabkunda at 11:45 am.
Meanwhile, an unidentified woman was killed after being hit by a human-hauler while crossing Dhaka-Chattogram Highway at Madambibir Hat in Shitakundo Upzila at 5:00 pm.
In Sylhet, an elderly woman died after being slipped off a human-hauler while getting down from it at 6:00 pm on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Razia Begum, 55, wife of Jamsed Ali of Barochatul village of the upazila.
Locals rushed her to the Upazila Health complex where the duty doctors declared her dead.
