Light to heavy rainfall or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur in the next 72 hours until Sunday, according to a met office bulletin issued on Friday.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in its 24-hour bulletin also said light to moderate rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Chattogram, Barishal, and Sylhet divisions.
It also stated that rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy fall at isolated places over the country and on Saturday.
On Thursday, Sylhet recorded the maximum 19 mm rainfall as per the regular forecast said.
The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh, it said, adding that one of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderates over North Bay.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
