President Abdul Hamid has assented to the Digital Security Bill passed in the 22nd session of the current parliament, making it a law.
His Press Secretary Joynal Abedin said the President signed the Bill into law on Monday.
The Digital Security Bill 2018 is among 18 which the 22nd session of the 10th parliament passed on September 20, according to UNB news agency.
It deals with cybercrimes, including hurting religious sentiment, propaganda against the Liberation War and Bangabandhu, and illegal activities in e-transactions and spreading defamatory data.
