Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said the attackers of police van will face legal actions through a proper investigation.
The Home Minister alleged that the attack was carried out from the convoy of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who was crossing the area on the way to her Gulshan home from a court in Bakshibazar.
"We have the video footage. We are identifying them (attackers)," he said during a question-answer session in the parliament.
"It was a sudden attack on police. They broke two rifles and vandalised a prison van," the minister added.
Asaduzzaman said the government will bring the attackers under legal steps and they are working towards that.
UNB says, BNP activists allegedly attacked a prison van and snatched two detained fellowmen from it near High Court area of the capital.
Three policemen were also injured as they swooped on the law enforcers guarding the vehicle with sticks.
