Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hosted an iftar mahfil in honour of the judges, diplomats and high civil and military government officials on Wednesday.
Arriving at the iftar venue, the green lawn of Ganabhaban, the Prime Minister went round tables set for the guests and enquired about their wellbeing.
A munajat was offered before the iftar seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country and its people, reports UNB.
Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Ihsanul Haque conducted the munajat also seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and martyrs oftheAugust15 carnage in 1975, four national leaders and the martyrs of the War of Liberation.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Law Minister Anisul Huq, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadique, Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary, chiefs of the three services and Dean of Diplomatic Corps were present at the dais during the iftar.
Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda,judges of the Appellate and High Court Divisions,Chairman of Public Service Commission, Chairman of University Grants Commission, IGP Dr Javed Patwary, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of various foreign countries, including the USA, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, India and Indonesia, also attended the iftar.
Besides, Bangabandhu's grandson Radwan Mujib Siddiq and high civil and military officials joined the iftar.
