Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed has said that a lab for Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test will be set up in Chattogram soon.
"Necessary steps are being taken to set up PCR labs in Chattogram soon. A letter has been sent to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in this regard," he said.
The minister was speaking at a view exchange meeting with Bangladeshi expatriates in the Al Ain, a province of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Friday as the chief guest, reports BSS.
During his visit to the UAE, he urged the officials of the Bangladesh embassy to help all expatriate workers.
In response to the demand for National Identity Card (NID) for the expatriate workers, he said necessary steps would be taken so that expatriates can easily get the NID cards.
Ambassador of Bangladesh to UAE Mohammed Abu Zafar, Counsellors (Labour Welfare) Fatema Jahan and Lt Col Mohammad Abdul Alim Miah and First Secretary (Labour) Lutfun Nahar Nazim also spoke, among others, on the occasion.
