Another injured person, who along with nine others received burn injuries in a reservoir tank explosion in the city's Pallabi area on August 21 night, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday.
With the death of Surut Ali, aged 60, the number of death tolls rose to two in the incident, reports UNB.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, a four and a half year old girl child succumbed to her injuries at the burn unit of DMCH.
Sources at the DMCH said Surut was admitted with around 72 per cent burn injuries. He breathed his last at around 7:00 am.
Ten people, including Surut and Mili, received burn injuries when a reservoir tank located on the underground of a 6-storey building at Block-E of Mirpur Section-12 under Pallabi Police Station, exploded due to gas pipe leakage at 9 pm on August 21.
They were rushed to the burn and plastic surgery unit of DMCH.
Other injured are-Bedana Begum, 50, the wife of Surut Ali, her son Rabbi, 22, Rabbi's wife Laboni Akhtar, 18, her daughter Aliya Begum, 25, house owner Mosharraf Hossain, 45, his son Jisan, 28, Abdul Awal, 32, and Alamgir Hossain, 32.
Of them, Rabbi, Laboni, Bedana Begum and Aliya Begum are now undergoing treatment in the DMCH.
