A fire at a courier service outlet in Dhaka following a transformer blast has left one killed and two others hospitalised with burn injuries.
The incident was reported late on Thursday from Keraniganj, at the outskirts of the city, said police.
Around 11:30pm, a transformer inside a shop in Najirabaad area exploded causing a fire to break out, said Sub Inspector Mohidul. He, however, could not provide any details.
Three people were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital or DMCH, where the doctors pronounced 22-year-old Babur dead.
The two others, who are being treated with burns, have been identified as Mostafiz, 45 and Rafiqul, 26, reports bdnews24.
DMCH police camp’s Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia said Rafiqul suffered 17 percent burns while Mostafiz two per cent.
