Newly appointed Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed paid a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban Tuesday afternoon.
“During the meeting, the new army chief expressed his gratitude for appointing him as the Chief of Army Staff. . . He sought the President’s cooperation in developing and modernising the Bangladesh Army,” said President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin, reports BSS.
Congratulating the new army chief, President Hamid hoped that the Bangladesh Army would move forward further under his leadership.
Hamid asked Aziz to take necessary steps while discharging duties so that the army can uphold its dignity and efficiency worldwide in the days to come.
The President assured him of providing all out cooperation.
