Under the project titled ‘Digital Sylhet City (2nd Revised)’ being implemented by the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) of the ICT Division, the ‘Health Service Management System’ is going to be implemented for the smooth operation at the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH).
The Tripartite MoU signing and exchange ceremony between the SOMCH, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), and BCC was held on Wednesday at the BCC conference room at Agargaon ICT Tower, Dhaka.
The Senior secretary of the ICT Division N M Zeaul Alam PAA was present as the chief guest at the programme. BCC Executive Director Ranajit Kumar presided over the event.
The Project Director of Digital Sylhet City Mr. Mohammad Mohidur Rahman Khan on behalf of BCC, The Director of MIS and Line Director of HIS & eHealth Prof. Dr. MD Shahadat Hossain on behalf of the DGHS and the Director of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital Brig Gen Mr. Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan signed the MoU.
Representatives from the ICT Division, DGHS, and senior officials of BCC were present at the event.
As the chief guest at the programme, Zeaul Alam said that every person in the country is getting the benefits of the implementation of Digital Bangladesh.
IT is being used in almost all fields including education, health, industry, business & commerce as a necessity of daily life, he said, adding that the use of information technology in health services is very important.
Software with 31 modules is being developed under the ‘Health Service Management System’ under implementation at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
For the proper implementation of this system, a modular data centre and necessary computer hardware and networking equipment at the SOMCH are in progress funded by the Digital Sylhet City Project.
The hospital authorities will perform the responsibility of its maintenance and management after the smooth implementation of this programme from the project office.
