People in the capital and some parts of the country are expected to witness an increased rainfall from tonight (Thursday night) and it may continue to Sunday as monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay, said an official at met office.
Aftab Uddin, a meteorologist at Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), told The Financial Express that during this spell of rainfall, people are likely to see increased rainfall, especially at night.
A met office bulletin also said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.
In its 24-hour forecast, Dhaka witnessed 8.0 mm of rainfall until 6:00 am today while Jashore recorded the highest 70 mm of rainfall.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said.
In its 72-hour forecast said about little change.
