The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has decided to conduct drives of the mobile courts against adulterated food items during the Holy month of Ramada slated for begin from May 17.
"We will also take legal action against the people who will create obstruction of vehicular movements with putting construction materials on footpaths and in front of houses," DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia told a press briefing held at DMP Media Centre in the capital on Tuesday.
The mobile courts under the direct supervision of the DMP have been asked to take action in line with the law in case of selling adulterated foods and for creating obstruction of traffic movements with putting construction materials on roads, he also said.
High officials of DMP, representatives from different private and public service producing organizations, shop owners association, bus owners association, launch owners association, BGMEA, BKMEA, two Dhaka city corporations and different financial institutions, were present on the occasion, reports BSS.
