Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Rangpur, Barishal, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions in the next 24 hours commencing 12:00 pm today.
The BMD also issued warning signal number one for river ports of the country, reports BSS.
Due to active monsoon, heavy (44-88mm) to very heavy (>89mm) rainfall with gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over the four divisions during next 24 hours, it said.
Meanwhile, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary South or South- Easterly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur in the regions of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s bazar and Sylhet, said another met office warning message.
