LYLDP offers career training, jobs

The LFB Young Leaders Development Program (LYLDP), a training hub of the parent platform Leaders Forum BD (LFB), has been imparting foundation/career induction training to fresh university graduates on Zoom since 27 March 2022 with an eye to making them skilled, competent and future-ready for a career in Dhaka’s corporate world as newbies.

The LYLDP believes in skilling and upskilling people through leadership lessons and theories to turn them into human capital. Thousands of would-be corporate leaders will be brought under this career growth engine to take leadership lessons from the real-life top corporate leaders who are on the trainers’ team to meet, greet, mingle, train and groom the freshers, according to a statement.

With this end in view, the LYLDP started its journey through hosting an ice-breaking session of the training batch-01 on Zoom platform on March 21, led by M Aminul Islam, training coordinator at LYLDP.

The grand opening of the training, moderated by Khandker Kabir, founder and president of the LFB, was hosted on March 24. Prof Dr Halida Hanum Akhter, senior associate at Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, inaugurated the program.

Dr Halida Hanum inspired the young leaders to get groomed and trained to equip themselves ahead of starting a professional career. Shaila Abedin, head of segments, Prime Bank Limited, Md Palash Sakal, founder and CEO of House of NUBDians, and Suzon Mahmood, chief reporter (digital) at Banglavision, among others, were present.

The formal career coaching started on March 27. Abed Ur Rahman, senior assistant vice-president and head of cards at Midland Bank, led the first session as the keynoter on CV writing under the 'Life & Career' key topic.

Mohammad Shahidozzaman Raj, general manager, Siam City Cement, led the second session on April 02 as the trainer on interview skills and personal branding under the 'Life & Career' key topic.

Tanveer Chowdhury, director, East Coast Group of Companies, led the third session on April 09 on career growth and climbing the career ladder under the 'Career & Growth' key topic. Senior banker Shaila Abedin was also present.

The LYLDP is going to host the fourth session with coach Abdul Hakim, chief marketing officer at Hoorain Hi-Tech Fabrics Limited, on ‘How to enrol in RMG sector as a job-seeker’ on April 16. Aleya Akter, general manager, HR, Ha-Meem Group, and Kador Ali Lavlu, assistant general manager, HR & compliance, Bitopi Group, will also be there.

The LYLDP primarily seeks 20 talented trainees from its current batch of participants for this lucrative employment opportunity. Students will take an aptitude test after successful completion of the training. Later, the LYLDP will hand over an e-certificate. The highly deserving candidates will get scope to face job interviews at different industrial sectors.
