The low pressure over South Andaman Sea and the adjoining area intensified into a well-marked low and is lying over the Southeast Bay and the adjoining area, the weather department said on Tuesday.
It is likely to intensify further, it said in its weather bulletin.
Its associated trough extends up to Northeast Bay. A ridge of Sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and adjoining area, it added.
The weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 6:00 pm on Tuesday, reports UNB.
Light fog may occur at places over the country during the early morning, as per the bulletin.
Night temperature may rise slightly over the southern part and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The mercury reached 31.4 degrees Celsius – the highest – in Feni of Chattogram division, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 11.9 degrees in Tetulia in northern Bangladesh.
