Light to heavy rainfall is likely to occur in most parts of the country including Dhaka in the next 72 hours until Saturday, according to a met office bulletin.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in its bulletin also said light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions as monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
A few places over Khulna and Dhaka divisions may witness moderately heavy to heavy falls, it said.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay, the forecast said.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the
country, as per the bulletin, which is valid in the next 24-hour commencing from 9 am.
