Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Atiqul Islam on Saturday said as many as 125,000 people have been vaccinated in its area in the last three days under the mass vaccination programme.
Terming that vaccination centres were overcrowded on Saturday, he also warned of taking legal action if vaccine certificates are not found at different organisations including shops from March 1.
He came up with remarks after visiting the DNCC's mass immunisation centres at Suchana Community Centre in the capital’s Mohammadpur area.
Announcing that the immunisation centres will remain open even at night until everyone present there are vaccinated, he said "If the shop owners and employees are not vaccinated, legal action will be taken by operating mobile courts in 10 areas of DNCC from March 1, including the closure of shops."
Vaccines are now sufficient and there is no scope of getting unvaccinated as it is being given free of cost, he pointed out.
He called upon all to collect certificates for vaccination.
