Question sets for the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will be decided by lottery 25 minutes prior to the examinations in an effort to curb leaks.

Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Md Sohrab Hossain announced the decision at a meeting attended by the media on Sunday, reports bdnews24.com.

“The [question] set will be determined 25 minutes before the examination. The Dhaka board will make select it by lottery,” he said.

Similar to the SSC exams, students are required to enter the examination centre 30 minutes prior to their HSC examinations.

The HSC and equivalent examinations this year will start on April 2 and will continue until May 13.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid sat with law enforcers, relevant ministry officials and education board representatives on Sunday, prior to the exams.
