A fire broke out at the Rohingya refugee camp at Kutupalong in Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday, gutting at least 20 tents and a health centre, officials said.
The fire erupted around 8:00 am in extended mega camp-20 and burnt the tents and the health centre, operated by International Organization for Migration (IOM), said Md Shamsu-Ddouza Nayan, Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (deputy secretary).
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, said Naimul Haque, commander of Armed Police Battalion-14 (APBn), reports UNB.
No casualties were reported in the fire, said Naimul Haque, APBn-14 commander.
