A journalist of The Financial Express (FE), Sajibur Rahman, has achieved the prestigious NIMC (National Institute of Mass Communication) Media Award-2022.
A total of 20 journalists from different media organisations received the award at a ceremony at its auditorium on Sunday evening.
The NIMC has launched the award in association with the Cabinet Division, European Union (EU) and British Council for the first time.
Earlier, the NIMC nominated a total of twenty journalists for the award in three categories like print, video and audio.
The NIMC in an official circular announced the call for news content on five tools like ‘National Integrity Strategy’, ‘Right to Information Act’, ‘Service Delivery Commitment’, ‘Grievance Redress System’ (GRS) and ‘Annual Performance Agreement’.
Out of the 20 people selected for the award, seven journalists, including Sajibur Rahman, were awarded in the print section. Apart from this, four journalists were awarded in the video category and nine journalists in the audio category.
Cabinet Division Secretary (coordination & reforms) Md Samsul Arefin, first secretary and team leader-EHD & PFM of European Union Bangladesh Hans Lambrecht and Country Director of British Council Bangladesh Tom Miscioscia spoke at the function as special guests.
The NIMC director general Shahin Islam chaired the function. The awards were given under the Platforms for Dialogue project (P4D).
