The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) is setting up ‘Farmers Service Centre’ across the country to provide necessary agricultural services for the farmers in the remote areas.
Under DAE’s pilot project 'Farmer Service Centre and Transfer of Technology’, service centres are being established at 24 Unions of 24 sub-districts in 21 districts across the country.
“Farmers will have access to agricultural services easily at union level as they needed to go to upazila headquarters for it previously, said DAE director general Mohammad Mohsin.
The centres will also provide farmers with modern agricultural technological services smoothly, he added.
The service centres will be established in phases in every union across the country, the DG added.
