In the face of the growing mosquito menace in recent times, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has launched a mobile hotline to take its mosquito-control services to the doorsteps of city-dwellers.
The hotline number is 01932665544. City dwellers can request for spraying insecticide to control the mosquito menace in their locality through the hotline number from 9:00am to 5:00pm everyday from Wednesday, said DNCC's Public Relation Officer ASM Mamun.
After getting the call, the DNCC will provide its mosquito-control services within 24 hours, he said.
The DNCC's ongoing crash programme for mosquito control will continue till March 15.
The decision of providing mosquito-control services through the hotline was taken at an emergency meeting with Chief Executive Officer of the DNCC in the chair on February 25.
The meeting also decided to extend the ongoing mosquito eradication crash programme to March 15 from February 28, reports UNB.
The meeting also decided to further extend the duration of the crash programme if needed, the DNCC PRO relayed.
The meeting asked the DNCC officers and employees concerned to continue monitoring whether the insecticides were being sprayed properly.
