Divisional digital innovation fair begins in Ctg

A three-day 'Chittagong Divisional Digital Innovation-2018' fair began in the port city on Friday aimed at making people aware of e-technologies and reach government services to the people's doorstep.

Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Mohammad Abdul Mannan inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.

With Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chittagong Zillur Rahman Chowdhury in the chair, the fair was organised by Chittagong District administration at Gymnasium hall of outer stadium in the city, reports BSS.

Speaking on the occasion, Mannan said the country has achieved tremendous success in the digitisation process for reaching services to the people's doorsteps quickly.

He said people are getting digital services like e-governance, e-education, e-agriculture, e-health, e-admission, e-banking, e-outsourcing and other services easily, which accelerates the uplift activities of the country.

DC of Chittagong Zillur Rahman said, "Once Digital Bangladesh was a dream for us, but today the dream has come true. Through new innovative technologies, our country will move forward."

Latest ICT products, multi-media classrooms, mobile banking and e-learning items are being displayed at around 70 stalls under five pavilions at the fair.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Chittagong range Dr ASM Moniruzzaman, Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Mohammad Iqbal Bahar, Superintendent of Police Nur-e-Alam Mina and civil surgeon Dr Azizur Rahman Chowdhury attended the function as special guests.

The fair will end on February 25.
